The Sanctuary
Theater Co.
THE PLACE WHERE YOU CAN BE YOURSELF
The Sanctuary Theater Company mission is to provide a safe-haven for anyone and everyone to be able to be their authentic selves. We leave the labels and identities at the door and focus on the talent, stories, and magic that each individual brings to our performances. We believe everyone has magic inside of them and when you look beyond the outward appearances you find true talent and beauty.
Blind casting is the heart and soul of the our company. During the audition process, anything that can even give a hint of who the person is such as name, gender, race etc... is eliminated. The production team will be hidden behind a curtain for the duration of the audition and will not see or meet the individuals until the first day of rehearsal.
Theater is an art and can be very healing and life changing, we will protect and uphold our values in order to provide a magical environment where everyone is welcome, seen, and heard. Acceptance and Respect will be upheld and behavior outside of this will not be tolerated.
Meet the Staff
Connie Beaty
The Sanctuary Owner
Connie Beaty has been performing as long as she could remember. Connie has over ten years experience in comedy, she's been performing and teaching Improv for years. She was in the professional improv troupe The Antics in Logan Utah, as well as the Executive Director of the Jesters Royale. She's written and performed stand-up comedy routines at multiple venues and festivals. She's been cast in multiple comedic actress roles in different musical productions, and produces and directs her own comedy parodies.
Connie has always loved theatre and after experiencing her own flavor of discrimination and theater politics, she set out to create a theatre experience where everyone could be themselves and have opportunities to shine and grow their talent. Through that vision the Sanctuary Theater Company was born.
Thorton
Official "Paw-ducer"
Thorton was rescued June 2023 from a shelter out in California. He was driven here to Utah in style to join us at The Sanctuary Theater as the official Paw-ducer of the shows here. He made his debut as Paw-ducer on the show Matilda, where he got to grow and play with the amazing kids in the cast.
He loves all the amazing actors and actresses that come through the doors. He's been training and working on behaving at rehearsals so he can oversee more of the production during rehearsals. He loves treats and most of all attention from all our cast and crew!
Thorton is grateful to have made his way to such a fun accepting place where he can share his big loving personality with all those that join us here.
